Finnish and Norwegians in Vietnam
Finnish FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in Vietnam rank s 26th out 101 countries investing in Vietnam with USD 335 million of investment capital. There are around 60 Finnish originated companies operating in Vietnam.
Norwegian FDI in Viet Nam ranks 37th out of 101 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam. There are about 40 Norwegian companies in Vietnam. Currently Norwegian companies have been active in Vietnam in major areas such as maritime, marine, energy, oil & gas and ICT.
Norway is also well known for clean water and water technologies but so is Finland and Sweden. Perhaps the most known for water technology in Vietnam is Finland.
One of the most successful Norwegian investments in Vietnam must be Vinomarine , a joint-venture by IMS Group, Jets Vacuum and Libra Plastics. The company was established to improve their access to the important Asian ship building markets, and to strengthen their own competitiveness. Vinomarine manufactures steel components and products, and among other things it features a large, state-of-the-art sandblasting and painting facility.
